Two Trees

Adam and Eve chose a tree that led to death and brought sin into the world.

Jesus chose a tree that led to death to free us all, conquering sin and death.

I just heard a fellow seminarian talk about this and it is obvious but also blew my mind and I found it amazing. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and the cross of crucifixion.

The Power of Demons

From my Spiritual Warfare class, my prof. pointed out this passage to show that some of the false gods that nations other than Israel were worshiping were demons, and that they have power. In the passage below the king of Edom offered up his most prized possession, his son, as a burnt sacrifice and it turned the tide of the battle thus showing the power of the false god demon that the Edomites worshiped. 2 Kings 3:26–27 [26] When the king of Moab saw that the battle was going against him, he took with him 700 swordsmen to break through, opposite the king of Edom, but they could not. [27] Then he took his oldest son who was to reign in his place and offered him for a burnt offering on the wall. And there came great wrath against Israel. And they withdrew from him and returned to their own land. (ESV)
