The Practice of Godliness by Jerry Bridges | Book Review

The Practice of GodlinessThe Practice of Godliness by Jerry Bridges
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amazing deep book chalked full of bible verses to back up all the teaching. Seriously, most paragraphs had bible verses to back up what he was saying. This book defines Godliness as:

"...devotion to God which results in a life that is pleasing to him."

It has all kinds of great things to chew on like:

"A personal attitude toward god that results in actions that are pleasing to God, in other words devotion to God. But it is always devotion in action not just a feeling."

"Some people may seem to be very successful Christians but they are still not godly because they are not devoted to God."

I read this with a group of guys and we met and talked about it for several weeks. It gave us a lot to think about and discuss. It was a great book.
