- vv. 14-15 Paul loved these men and thought they had good knowledge, but still wrote to them boldly, never be afraid to speak boldly, but do it in love
- v. 30 strive in your prayers!

- v. 17 watch out for people causing division and obstacles to right doctrine
- v. 19 How can we be wise to what is good and innocent as to what is evil?
- fill our heads w/ truth by reading Scripture, don't go our of our way to find evil and watch it, read about it, delight in it, but avoid it
- v. 20 an allusion to Genesis 3:15
