- v. 3 the Davidic Covenant in 2 Sam. 7

- v. 11 & 12 interesting how Paul defines a spiritual gift here as mutual encouragement in the faith

1-3 Conscience, weaker brother

11-12 every knee will bow, everyone will give an account to God. Powerful stuff, what does it do to your heart or make think?

15-16, 20 don’t make another brothers stumble. 

23 whatever does not proceed from faith is sin, what do you think that means? Faith glorifies God by trusting him, lack of faith dishonors him

ch. 15

- v. 2 -> love others

- v. 12 so cool! 700 years before, talking about Jesus fulfilling the 2 Sam. 7 Davidic Covenant

- vv. 14-15 Paul loved these men and thought they had good knowledge, but still wrote to them boldly, never be afraid to speak boldly, but do it in love

- v. 30 strive in your prayers!

ch. 16

- v. 17 watch out for people causing division and obstacles to right doctrine

- v. 19 How can we be wise to what is good and innocent as to what is evil? 

- fill our heads w/ truth by reading Scripture, don't go our of our way to find evil and watch it, read about it, delight in it, but avoid it

- v. 20 an allusion to Genesis 3:15
